Flame Kabob: A Taste of Persia

Do you believe that food is good for the soul? I do. God put food on the earth to show us how to embrace different cultures, ethnicity and learn to build and bond with others. Food is fantastic and brings comfort and life to the soul of the person enjoying the feast. It is nothing better than going to the gym, doing cardio, lifting weights and then enjoying a great healthy meal.


The Flame Kabob is my favorite restaurant after a great workout.  They do not use heat lamps, microwaves or freezers. The bread is cooked in their own uniquely made ovens.  The food is great not only because it is freshly made, organic but because of the wonderful owners. They only use organic meat from Australia and New Zealand. No Hormones. No antibiotics.

On that two Saturdays we visited in February and March 2015, we were blessed by Dez (he is in the picture). He is tall, energetic, friendly Young man that loves cooking, serving and engaging his customers in good conversations. This writer, was thrilled to see how he took the time to sit and talk to me. He did not even know I was a journalist until the end of the meal.

Okay, I love Greek food. However, if my taste buds could talk they would say “stop, wait up, hold a minute we have died and went to food heaven”. On a scale of 8stars. The Flame Kabob. Gets an “8”. Superb customer service, greeted when came in the door, a great decor and relaxing environment. the food was outstanding. Oh my goodness’s, it matched the pictures on the brochure. I have to say, I love to talk when I eat. However, I was too busy in another dimension with the flavors of the Dolmeh (5 pieces of stuffed grape leaves with rice, oil and savory spices). Ladies and Gentlemen, this place is a great place to go after the gym, work, and family dinners or cater a work luncheon.b2ap3_thumbnail_20150228_174945.jpg

My taste buds continued to be rocked by the Shirazi Salad (chopped cucumber, tomato, onion, and parsley, lemon and olive oil).  I want to be honest I scrapped the plate this food is just fabulous. The main dish was a combination plate. The plate was beautiful, colorful and arranged like they were serving royalty. On the bottom of the plate was the delectable Saffron Rice (imported basmati rice with saffron). Okay, my rice at home better move over there is a new rice Sherriff in town. Next, was the Lamb Kubideh Kabob (Ground Lamb), Chicken Kubideh, a side salad and Fresh Taftoon Bread. Now, this is no normal bread. It is made to order, melts in your mouth and reminded me of manna from heaven. 

Moreover, it got even better alongside the made to order Persian Taftoon Bread was the Mast-O-Khiar (yogurt, chopped cumber, mint, traditional zest). Now, at this point I was done, ready to commit to work for free just to get this Persian greatness. I was so full I did not get to try the Baklava, but was told from my friend that the desert melts in your mouth and it is hard to only eat one piece.

Yes, I have been back several times and even going today for lunch, March 19, 2015.  I love this restaurant because the days that I choose not to eat meat. I can get a Veggie Kabob plate with rice and hummus or Original Flame Feta Salad (Includes 4 Dolmeh and crumbled feta cheese). In the mood for Soup, then sit down relax and tantalize your taste buds with the Lentil, Chicken or Herbal Persian Soup (Aash).

Great prices and you will have plenty food to take home. They have two restaurants located at 4440 south Maryland Parkway #109 Las Vegas, NV 89119, 702-476-5544. Store hours Monday through Saturday 11am-10pm and Sunday 12pm-8pm.  The other store is located at 1205 W. Warm Springs Road #112 Henderson, NV 89104 702-565-5564. Store hours Monday through Saturday 11am to 9pm and Sunday 12pm to 8pm.
