Man's World, Her Rulesin Empowerment
Although woman make up a great percentage of the entrepreneur world. They are still outnumbered in certain areas of the industry. Women empowering women is what we are accustom to hearing or seeing. We would like to introduce to you a female entrepreneur that has went beyond leaps and boundaries. She is a woman of essence, beauty, class, and style. She is Redd Angel. Take a look below with our interview with Redd Angel.
Q: Tell us about who is Redd Angel & what is it that you do?
A: Redd Angel is what I use to consider my alter ego, however as I have evolved and grown she has definitely become who I am, Redd Angel is a believer in following your dreams, an entrepreneurial spirit at heart. I have several ventures involving entertainment from fashion to nightlife and film but my latest baby that seems to bring me so much joy is MEN of Entertainment.
Q: Tell us about your company Men of Entertainment?
A: MEN of Entertainment is an Entertainment company that represents Men within the industry. Whether it be fashion, film, fitness etc. We also do event marketing and promotion. But most importantly we manage and own one of the top male revues in the country.
Q: Of all the genres of business as a woman, what made you decide to go in business with men & the style of the business you have chosen?
A: To be honest, it was a feeling...lol I know that sounds cliché but it’s the truth. I am the marketing manager for Label one of the top Night life venues in the S.E. And originally my goal was just to put on events for ladies to enjoy, but I saw the potential to grow a thriving business and to take it a step further. I love building brands and this was a challenge. So I partnered with Johnny King a top entertainer and went for it. Something about the industry and the show production side attracted me to it.
Q: How is it running a company with hot males?
A: Distracting...lol just kidding. It is interesting. I think I have become immune to some of it...lol just like anything else you make mistakes and learn to work smarter not harder. It really is no different than running any other company it's just the product is different. I am in the business of making women across the country smile, let their hair down, and for one night be a woman in every sense of the word. I love to see the ladies have a great time.
Q: When you’re doing business on behalf of your company do you run into the prejudice of being a woman dealing with an all-male company?
A: At times yes. Originally when I first started it I was met with a lot of nay Sayers. Mainly because I did not know anything about this industry. But I know how to put on a great show, I know how to build a brand and I know how to market effectively. I knew what my strengths were so I relied on that, and leveraged the wonderful relationships I had with other business partners, then I let the guys/my performers do the rest. This industry is considered a male dominated industry its run by mostly males. So I have had to prove myself. But I am up for the challenge. I believe in my guys, my partners and most importantly myself. I don't believe in giving up. I want my dreams to become a reality and having the #1 Male revue is one of them.
Q: What are some of the projects that we should expect from you in the near future?
A: We are prepping for our national campaign, and pushing our calendars etc. we are traveling the country performing. We have one of the top promoters/Booking agents with over 20 years in the industry keeping us busy as well as others. I have one of the Top Entertainers and business partner Johnny King leading the group so the sky is the limit.
I am still very much involved with fashion and entertainment/film. So there are a few film opportunities as well as TV that I am touching on. I am just going for it all.
