Happy 2016 everyone! God is soooooo GOOD!!!  Did you know that forgiveness of sins did not just start with the coming on Jesus? God has always offered us forgiveness of sin. So many people dismiss the Old Testament as no longer relevant, but I’m here to tell you the God of the Old Testament is the same compassionate God of the New Testament.

In Ezekiel 18:21-23 AMP God says, but if a wicked man turns away from all his sins that he committed and keeps my statutes and does that which is lawful and right he shall surely live; he shall not die. None of his transgressions which he has committed shall be remembered against him for his righteousness which he has executed [for his moral and spiritual rectitude in every area and relation], he shall live. Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked? Says the Lord, and not rather that he should turn away from his evil way and return [to his God] and live? Ezekiel 18:30 AMP ends by stating Repent and turn from all your transgressions, lest iniquity be your ruin and so shall they not be a stumbling block to you.

Jesus said that I am the way, the truth, and the life. John 17:17 says thy word is Truth. If we believe and agree that the Word is Truth why don’t more of us follow the way? Here may be some reasons why:

Proverbs 3:1 says don’t forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commands; for they will bring you many days a full life and well-being. The devil creates nothing but perverts everything just as he has done with the word discipline.

2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV says therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. Romans 6:6 ESV says we know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.

When my heart was hard these passages went right over my head. I can't remember not wanting to be made new, I just kind of thought me and God were good with the exception of this little nagging guilt for not going to Church on a consistent basis. Now I realize that my thoughts about a life in Christ was based on religion. It was hard to get excited about just doing things because you are supposed to do them if you believe in God. I tell you the devil loves religion because it just keeps people from having a true meaningful relationship with God. It's like we say without saying, "let me get my two hours in so I can get back to myself", or "Alright God I gave you some of my time so we are good". What a lie from the pit!

Colossians 3 Amplified Bible (AMP)

If then you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, thus sharing His resurrection from the dead], aim at and seek the [rich, eternal treasures] that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

And set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth.

Thus says the Lord, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the Lord thy God which teaches you to profit, which leads you by the way that you should go. Isiah 48:17.

As Christians, we should be led by God even in our serving. In order for God to teach us we have to relinquish control of living life and even serving God in our own way. God teaches and refines us through his Word, if we are open and willing to be the servants that he predestined us to be.

Romans 12:1 says that we are to present our bodies as a living sacrifice. In the amplified bible Romans 12:1 says; I appeal to you therefore, and beg of you in view of all the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all of your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship.

Before knowing and understanding the truth there were so many revelations in Church that would go directly over my head. One of those revelations was that a life of victory is already paid for you just have to receive it. Peace, joy, true prosperity and happiness were things I desperately wanted but honestly never really understood how to “receive it”.

I have heard all kinds of testimonies around prayers to the Lord to send a mate, including my own. Some people have an awesome testimony of this prayer being answered. However, some are insistent that the devil heard their prayer too and sent them a fraud that they fell for first.

Why do we fall in love? Is it because of who the person is or the way the person treats us? It’s probably a little bit of both, but the most impactful factor to falling in love is the time that you spend with the person. The same holds true with God.

Proverbs 22:6 says to train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old he will not depart from it. This is an awesome promise from God and he is faithful to carry it out! The next question is are we truly being obedient in this area.

Patience is the ability to stand up against the trials and tribulations of life. We do this by taking God at his word instead of reacting to our own reasoning. The Lord has given us the power to become a temple of God (1Corinthians 3:16). If we truly believe the word of God our reactions should line up with the Word. When we react differently repentance (which is to change your mind and inner man to accept God’s will) should follow. Romans 2:4 AMP

It is so important that we know and identify who we are in Christ. This world feeds us lies and we buy it hook line and sinker. You have to really know the difference if you believe. So here is the TRUTH inspired by Ephesians 5.

As Christians:

Philippians 4:9 says: Those things which you have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of Peace shall be with you.

The amplified bible says practice what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and model your way of living on it, and the God of peace (of untroubled, undisturbed well-being) will be with you.

Ephesians 5:1 says to Be Ye therefore followers of God, as dear children. What picture comes to mind when you think of a “dear” child? Just pause and think about that for a moment…..

Because he lives, I can face tomorrow.

Because he lives, All fear is gone.

Because I know, He holds the future.

And life is worth the living, Just because he lives.

I'm sure many of you remember the chorus of this old hymn. I can't tell you how many times I sang this hymn in Church just singing along with the lyrics not ever really understanding what the words truly meant. I somehow got this notion that Jesus' sacrifice was only about the afterlife. This was future I thought he was holding, (which IS the ultimate future) but little did I know that Jesus is very active in our lives in this life!

Whether we realize it or not there is a motivation behind everything that we do. The title of this blog is who or what is ordering your steps but another way to pose this question is to ask what makes you move?

Once a man shared with me that the women he treated with respect and honor always gave him the cold shoulder. On the contrary the women that he treated badly kept coming back. He even went on to say that the worse he treated the women the more they clamored over him. Shame on him right, but this is not about him it is about us.

Most women don't say that they want a man that is proud, boastful, arrogant, flashy, self-centered, hard-hearted, and all about making himself look good. However, that is the very thing that many of us are attracted to. Most of us say that we want a good man and the truth is that our born again Spirit does want a good man!!!

2012

Praise the Lord that we are all here to see a glorious new year! 2014 has passed away and 2015 is here!

As I reflect back on 2014, I have to say that by far and wide 2014 was the best year of my life. This transformation started with me relying and trusting God to lead my life as an escape to relieve my pain. If I am really honest my expectation from trusting God and casting all my cares upon him was really just a way to cope.  I guess I also had a hope of restoration over my situation, but now I realize my problems were a result of wrong believing. I really thought that as long as I believed in God our relationship was "good". It was like having a relationship with someone whom I only spoke to when I needed something or religiously. You know pray before you go to bed, pray before you eat, pray when you wake up as a matter of just something you are supposed to do. Well little did I know that having this type of relationship with God was only hurting me.

In order for us to truly find happiness we must focus our lives on pleasing God rather than our selfish desires. As Christians, it is so very important for us to realize that we are living in the devil's playground. This is why the Word warns us to not to conform to this world Romans 12:2. The Word also warns us to walk wise and make the most of our time for the days are evil. Ephesians 5:15-16
